Mike Diller has been named the Greenup County High School Head Softball Coach. Coach Diller is a graduate of GCHS and Shawnee State University. He went on to play basketball at Shawnee State University, finishing his playing career in 1985.
Coach Diller began his coaching career with Stan Spence Little League, where he captured third place finishes in the state tournament in both 2005 and 2008. His Stan Spence career culminated with a state title in 2010. He has coached softball at the high school level at both Raceland (2008-2017, 2021) and Lewis County (2018-2020), leading his teams to three district championships.
“I’ve been waiting on the call from Greenup for a long time”, said Coach Diller. “With the help and dedication of players, parents, community, and administration, we’re going to build a program that competes for district and regional championships every year.”
Mike has been employed at Harbison Walker International Refractory in South Shore for 37 years. He and his wife, Lora, have two children, Laiken (TJ) Stephenson and Kelsey Diller, and two grandchildren, Tucker and Syndee Stephenson.
