Before next week's promotion ceremony, we're celebrating our eighth-grade students!
Mr. Michael DuDomaine shares that Raelynn is a very intelligent and driven individual. She enjoys challenges and wants to master whatever task is given to her. She has the grit that is needed to overcome any obstacle, a great quality to have!

Ms. Katie Williams shares that Mason is an absolute gentleman. He is funny, creative, and intelligent. This year, he tried some new activities and was our drone pilot for our Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP). Ms. Williams notes that they had many laughs along the way.

Mrs. Baleigh Long shares that Riley has risen to the challenge of being a member of the drama class, and she has improved tremendously. She goes to class with lots of energy and is always ready to practice!

Ms. Katie Williams shares that we are so glad that Sophie came back to Wurtland Middle School this year! She is a talented athlete and a great student. She was a captain on our cheerleading squad (as voted by her peers) and was a great help to our younger cheerleaders throughout the year!

Mrs. Long shares that Bonnie is the type of student who genuinely cares about others. She'll stop and ask about one's day without being prompted. She'll help other students who are in need. She'll take a leadership role when asked. She's a great kid!

FIFTH-GRADE VISITORS
On Wednesday, fifth-grade visitors from Wurtland Elementary and Argillite Elementary learned ALL ABOUT sixth grade. They visited our new chicken coop, Industrial Arts, and even spent time in the fitness center. We can't wait to welcome these new Wildcats!

Ms. Katie Williams shares that Noah is polite and friendly and always has a smile on his face. Noah is a great athlete and would play basketball every minute of every day if allowed. Noah races real cars in real life, but, this year, he jumped in and joined our STLP Slot Car Racing team. He did a great job of building his car, working on the track, and competing at the state competition. He works just as hard in the classroom!
We're proud of this Wildcat and look forward to watching him grow!


"I VOTED" STICKER DESIGN
Students in Mr. Yancey's classes have been working hard to design new voting stickers. Andrew Imel, the Greenup County Clerk, chose Jaxon Rice's design as the winner of the competition, and Greenup Countians will be receiving these stickers the next time polls are open!
Wurtland Middle School students chose Rylen Picklesimer's design, featuring the Commonwealth's state bird, as the school-wide winner.
We are so incredibly proud of our students and their work! What's more? Our students are learning about civic responsibility at an incredibly young age, preparing them to make meaningful contributions as adults.

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Long shares that she recently witnessed Brendan helping Mrs. Carla clean up the cafeteria after lunch. She shares that this isn't the first time she's noticed Brendan helping others. She notes that he is always the first person to volunteer and help her when needed. Just last week, he helped her to fix a charging issue on a ChromeBook. Great job, Brendan!
