McKell Middle wants to thank our FRYSC and Ms. Michelle for sponsoring Micheal DeLeon and the Steered Straight company. Micheal had a message that made us laugh, cry, and consider different choices in life. Thank you for bringing such a good message to our students and providing such valuable information.

On Thursday day we welcomed our new Mckell Middle members into Beta Club. Congratulations students! We cannot wait to see the great things our Beta Club does this year.

The MMS Ag class has been baking pumpkins, they made pumpkin puree they toasted pumpkin seeds and made pumpkin rolls! They even donated some of the puree to the kitchen for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. One student said "it was better than grannys", we won't tell who said it!!

Mrs. Fraleys science students are wrapping up a unit on human impacts of the earth. Today they simulated the effects of mining on earth habitats and organisms. They used toothpicks as their mining tool to extract their ore (chocolate chips) from their mining site (cookie). Then they had to complete an analysis form to describe exactly what habitats, water sources, and organisms were affected. Extra cookies were enjoyed after their studies.

Update!
If you purchased a flag for our Field of Flags and would like to keep your flag(s), stop by the MMS office and we will have them. Thanks for the support and to help raise funds for the Greenup War Memorial!!

Check out the latest edition of the Bulldog Beacon!

Mrs.Coleman’s and Mrs.Cattell’s Agriculture class cleaned and baked pumpkins so they could make homemade pumpkin purée. Next week, students will be roasting pumpkin seeds and baking various pumpkin treats with our pumpkin purée.
Even the MMS kitchen staff will be utilizing it!!

We would like to shout out these gentleman for their accomplishment for the Kentucky Middle School Football Honorable Mention Player of the Year.

It was a busy day outside today! The MMS industrial arts class have been building a shed outside for our Ag Class along with laying the foundation for our new Greenhouse!!

Lettuce be thankful for salad days! Our students in Ag class have grown enough lettuce for the lunchroom to serve fresh salads to all students!
