SPRING INTO READING: SPRING BOOKFAIR
It's time to spring into reading at Wurtland Middle School with our spring bookfair! Ms. Johnson will host the bookfair in the library throughout the week after spring break, and it will begin on April 8, 2024. Be sure to stop in to guess the number of gumballs in the jar for free books and a prize bag!
Family night will be held on April 11, 2024 between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Aiden Baldridge recently made his grandfather's chocolate cake in Mrs. Shannon's Hospitality and Tourism class. Everyone loved it, and this was Aiden's first experience in the kitchen! Great job, Aiden!

Flexible seating, anyone? We owe a special note of thanks to our friends at Habitat for Humanity of the Tri-State’s Huntington ReStore. We were given a special deal on 20 couches that will expand our building’s seating options. Today, our friends delivered these to us FREE OF CHARGE. If needed, we are ready to PIVOT.
Did you know that Melissa Bowling, assistant principal, serves on the executive committee of this organization’s Board of Directors, and, on April 19, our building will partner with the organization for our third annual wall build? This year, we’re building two houses!

IN THE AIR
Students in Mr. Haywood's STEM class have been focused on a unit in aviation design. This week, students are crafting paper airplane designs, testing them in both the areas of distance and accuracy. Students are finalizing their designs for an upcoming competition!
SPRING HAS SPRUNG
The sights in the agriculture lab can only mean one thing: spring has sprung at Wurtland Mjddle School! New crops are SPRINGing to life, and we are so proud of the work of our students!

WURTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILY RESOURCE AND YOUTH SERVICES CENTER FREE ITEMS
The Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC) has been blessed with an abundance of donations recently, and we are at capacity. We have clothing, shoes and other household items available at Wurtland Middle School. These FREE items will be out today until 2:30 p.m.
Parents and Guardians: Please come and get any items you might want. We have baby sizes through adult sizes available. Mrs. Amy Shaffer will be in the back of the building near her office.

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Serenity recently helped to clean a mess in the cafeteria during breakfast. She was headed out of the cafeteria and stopped to go back and help. Way to be a leader, Serenity!
