ONE LAST PIZZA PARTY
It's never too late for one last pizza party! Yesterday afternoon, Ms. Young rewarded students who helped prepare for the luau and members of her class who won the door decorating contest. What can we say? We love to celebrate at WMS!

INDUSTRIAL ARTS
WMS Industrial Arts classes would like to show our appreciation for our community partners, Veolia and Mr. Sam Howard, for donating tools. Each of our shop managers will receive complete toolkits for all of their hard work this year. Thank you to Superintendent Moresea and Amy Shaffer for helping to procure these donations.

We would like to thank all of our Greyhound friends who came for a visit yesterday, especially Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Martin, who were so positive and encouraging! Check out those shirts - they're tagging us in for next year's sixth-grade students!

ANNUAL CARNIVAL
Our annual carnival was held this afternoon, and it was ALL FUN. Students participated in games, ate cotton candy, and laughed. We have much to celebrate!

TRACK and FIELD DAY
Our students were all smiles during today's Track and Field Day events! What started as a foggy morning morphed into sunshine and healthy competition!

THE LAST LUAU
There is no denying that Friday evening's luau was one for the books! Both students and faculty had a great night filled with smiles!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Spencer shares that, during a field trip on Wednesday, Brody didn't board the bus until he helped another student find his lost book. Way to go the extra mile, Brody!

REVISED UPCOMING DATES
Please note revised dates and times for both our field day and carnival. Please reach out to us with any questions.

It took five buses, but we had a great time celebrating some very hard workers at Earl Thomas Conley Park this afternoon!

When it's Friday and both Mr. Haywood and Mason Carr are both SUPER!

ARE 'YA READY KIDS?!
It's another day in Bikini Bottom, and there have been multiple SpongeBob sightings. William Billups is even showing everyone Bikini Bottom's best styles!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Zach is always willing to help classmates and teachers. He is a thoughtful and caring student.

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Ms. Scott shares that Ms. Williams is deserving of Colleague Credit because she always goes above and beyond for her students. She is phenomenal! Recently, she created and organized the Bikini Bottom Olympics. The students had a blast!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Ms. Katie Williams shares that Mrs. Hieneman is an amazing resource to our students. She has a heart of gold and takes care of everyone. This week, she has been here early and stayed late, so state testing is as efficient as possible. We are thankful for her!

ARE 'YA READY KIDS?
It's another fine day in Bikini Bottom, and we're continuing our work under the sea. All of our fish are enjoying daily meals at The Krusty Krab. Check out both the decorations and the latest menu offerings.

ARE 'YA READY KIDS?
The sights and sounds of Bikini Bottom are filling our hallways this week, and we're all living in a pineapple under the sea. Students and teachers are hard-at-work and ready for a week of Krabby Patty-flipping (sometimes known as state testing)!

AGRICULTURE COLLABORATION
On Thursday, Wurtland Middle School agriculture students worked with Kristen from Appalachian Folkology. Students learned how to create a herbal tea, as well as talking through some key points of product marketing and presentation.
Students broke into teams and worked on herbal tea creation, preparing packaging, cutting labels, weighing and packaging, and sealing and pricing.
While the class worked through tea creation, Kristen spoke about the importance of sanitary blending and packaging procedures, such as the use of clean hands, clean gloves, and hairnets.
The class also got a brief lesson about the importance of correct labeling and cautions about cross contamination between different herbs and teas.
Thank you, Appalachian Folkology!
