FIELD DAY
We have scheduled our annual field day event for 5.23.23, and we are so looking forward to a day filled with fun and healthy competitions! Once again, every grade will have matching field day t-shirts. We are asking all students to bring $5.00 to their first period teachers to cover the costs associated with the shirts as soon as possible. When the design is finalized, we will share this on social media. After they are delivered, students will be tie-dying the shirts.
Please reach out to us with any questions: 606.836.1023.

WHY WURTLAND?
UNIQUE GRANT FUNDING
Did you know that we are always pursuing exciting and unique grants to open new opportunities to our students? In the past year, we have secured a $6,000 technology grant, a $5,000 agriculture grant, a $7,000 Habitat for Humanity collaborative grant, and an art grant over $15,000. In addition, we've also received multiple smaller grants, ranging from Kentucky Farm Bureau to the Malt Beverage Educational Corporation.
As a result of these multiple funding sources, our students are being provided with amazing opportunities to which others may not be exposed. Innovation is the way, and we're paving the road!

Mr. Bowling shares that Wyatt is currently reading several books and completing multiple Accelerated Reader tests each week! Keep up the great work, Wyatt!

WHY WURTLAND?
CAREER and TECHNICAL EDUCATION CLASSES
As Kentucky continues to focus more and more on trades-based professions, we at Wurtland Middle School are working hard to expose students to a variety of career and technical education classes. Agriculture, industrial arts, journalism, health sciences, digital literacy, and career explorations are only a few of the pathways that our students can pursue.
Our students are traveling new roads, and we're with them through every mile!
