
SEVENTH-GRADE ELA
Today, seventh-grade students in the classes of Ms. Katie Williams are reviewing plot by participating in a file folder game, SCOOT, with the use of popular children's movies. These kids are learning and having fun!





ANNUAL HOMECOMING DANCE
Our annual homecoming dance will be held on 1.28.23. The cost is $10.00 per couple and $5.00 for an individual. Students may wear formal attire or Sunday best clothing. Students may also dress as their favorite Stranger Things characters and participate in a costume competition. It will be a fun-filled evening!

Mrs. Brumfield is proud of her student teacher. She shares that Ms. Pauley created speech bubbles for students to verbalize parts of various counterclaim paragraphs. Each group had a different topic and rotated through an entire paragraph. Great work, Ms. Pauley!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Mrs. Dornon developed the idea to rotate FLEX groups, so teachers can provide extra help, support, and tutoring for students. Mrs. Dornon is a valuable leader and team member who contributes ideas that benefit our students.

Ms. Scott shares that Waylon and Xavier have recently been spotted reading several books and swapping with one another when they have finished. Ms. Scott shares that these kiddos make her proud!

Mrs. Brumfield shares that a student recently dropped a binder and many papers were strewn across the gym floor. While some students passed, Addison moved from her seat to help the student pick up papers. Mrs. Brumfield shares that Addison is a good egg!

DISTRICT ACADEMIC TEAM COMPETITION
We had a fun and fruitful day at the District Academic Meet on Saturday. We owe big congratulations to the students who qualified to move on to the regional competition. Of all of the awards given, we are most proud that Wurtland Middle School received the Hume Award for Sportsmanship, as voted on by their peers. We are so proud of our team and their time and effort!





ACADEMIC TEAM DISTRICT COMPETITION
Yesterday, members of our academic team had a wonderful experience at the district competition! We appreciate everyone who was present to support them!



BOYS BASKETBALL EIGHTH-GRADE NIGHT
On Friday evening, we had the best time celebrating the eleven members of the eighth-grade boys basketball team. We are so proud of each of them!

Mr. Bowling shares that Raelynn is currently reading a Steven King collection of short stories. He adds that he and Raelynn recently had a great conversation because he, too, is a Stephen King fan!

Mr. Bowling shares that Heidi is such a hard worker in Industrial Arts. She has worked hard in painting the difficult trim in the conference room. She is always willing to take on any task and takes her time to make sure things are done right!


WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Eric gives 110 percent of his efforts every day in English class. From reading articles and finding language errors to writing argumentative essays, Eric is dedicated to being the best writer and student he can be!


COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Mr. Yancey has been spotted coming in to work extra early, so he can be the best teacher for his Wildcats. He is dedicated to his profession and his students!


HOMECOMING
Our annual homecoming dance will be held on Jan. 28 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. You may dress formally, wear your Sunday best, or even dress as your favorite Stranger Things character.
