COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Vanover shares that Mr. Horsley is deserving of Colleague Credit. He recently started a Dungeons and Dragons club, and students are so excited to participate. Way to go the extra mile, Mr. Horsley! That's the Wurtland Way!


READER OF THE WEEK
Mr. Horsley shares that Zoey Hackett pulled out a book and started reading after she finished her test in his class. Way to use your time and to set an example for your classmates, Zoey!

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Horsley shares that Austin Brown demonstrated a great deal of generosity when he brought a large number of pencils from home for students in his class that needed pencils. He also filled up Mr. Horsley's pencil cup for students in other classes, too. Wow!


LEGO LEAGUE
We are so excited to share that Alexis Gibson and Allie Wolf placed second in the Lego League competition yesterday. Alexis Bowling and Caitlyn Fields also placed fourth. In April, all four of these students will be making a trip to Rupp Arena to compete at state!

NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK
It's National School Breakfast Week! There's no better team than this one. They take the very best care of everyone at Wurtland Middle School each day! THANK YOU will never be enough for Mrs. Jennifer, Mrs. Shannon, Mrs. Christy, and Mrs. Tonya!


3-D PRINTING and DESIGN
The students in the STEM classes of Mrs. Miruka Williams have been designing keychains. What's more? They have been printing them on their 3-D printers! What an awesome skill with a tangible product to spread some spirit!










STEM BUILDERS
Students in Mr. Haywood's STEM Builders class are flyin' high! They had an amazing and fun-filled experience during their first class using their new drones! We're excited about their new learning adventure getting off of the ground!






SEVENTH-GRADE SCIENCE
Yesterday, students in Mr. Bowling's seventh-grade science classes used animal crackers to create ecosystems, review ecology concepts, and refresh their understandings of important vocabulary terms. That looks like some fun and tasty learning!




BAND SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Daniels shares that Kendra Longstreth earns a band spotlight for several reasons. She scored distinguished in her recent ensembles performance, is always prepared, and is a very gifted player. Way to set the example, Kendra!


EdRISING
Members of our EdRising class enjoyed spending time with our Wurtland Elementary School first and second-grade friends this afternoon! We love learning, and we love LEARNING TOGETHER even more!

DUNGEONS and DRAGONS CLUB
Is Mr. Horsley starting a Dungeons and Dragons club? Absolutely! Did our friends at Time Warp in Ashland, Kentucky donate enough materials to help us get started? Absolutely! We are so appreciative of their generosity and support of students! Thank you!


Beginning Monday, there's a new treat that will be added to the breakfast menu!


Meet the members of the choir representing Wurtland Middle School in the KMEA District 8 All-District Choir. Students were selected to participate in a group of 140 members. Students rehearsed throughout the day and shared their music with the community yesterday evening!


Mrs. Shannon's hospitality and tourism students were making magic again! Today's delightful treat? Chocolate chip cookies made from scratch!







How do we celebrate after working hard on our mock on-demand writing? With snow cones, of course!
