
WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Ms. Scott shares that Graci Maynard is very much deserving of Wildcat of the Week! Graci is a positive influence on her peers and teachers. She always has a smile on her face, and she works hard every day. Ms. Scott shares that she is so proud of Graci!


READER OF THE WEEK
Mr. Doran shares that Dakota has made significant progress in reading. He is focusing more on word parts and phonics skills and trying to sound out larger, unfamiliar words. Mr. Doran shares that he is proud of Dakota for his efforts!


WRITERS OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that each of these young ladies won prizes and rewards for being the top survivors in our argument-focused Hyperdoc Survivor Week in English class. Students completed rigorous required tasks and creative self-selected tasks.





What does the class choose as a reward for winning the Gold Rush Boomtown simulation in Mr. Horsley's class? Well, of course, they choose for student teacher, Mr. Hall, to wear a fake mustache! We have to say that he sported it with a smile!


Students in Mr. Yancey's classes recently participated in an escape room focused on the Silk Road.







DRAMA CLASS
Students in Ms. Scott's drama class have been having the most fun preparing for their next performance!







EdRISING
Our EdRising students are on the move again and working to perfect their bulletin board-making skills. Thank you Addison, Aubrey, Sydnee, Abby, and Zoey for making our hallways a little brighter!



TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY
Yesterday, students in Mrs. Shannon's tourism and hospitality class baked three-ingredient cookies and delivered them throughout out the building! Talk about having fun in the kitchen!


NEW COMMUNITY PARTNERS
We are excited to announce our collaboration with new community partners. Kristen Matthews, owner of Appalachian Folkology, and Carley Stout, owner of Sage and Root, are teaching our agriculture students to propagate houseplants and grow and process herbs to be used in teas and remedies. They will be joining us each week for exciting and fun-filled learning experiences! Thank you Kristen and Carley!

Mrs. Vanover shares that recently, when asked to get into groups of three, Jacob went the extra mile asked a new student to be in his group, so she didn't feel excluded. Way to be a friend and leader, Jacob!
