
ELA KAHOOT!
Students in the classes of Ms. Katie Williams have been having a (Ka)hoot! Kahoot! is a technology-based educational platform that allows students to interact with one another and study content. Clearly, they were having fun!


BAND SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Daniels shares that this week’s band spotlight goes to Mark Daniels because of his ability to read music with an ease like no one else. His ability to read rhythms is amazing. Music comes easily to him, and he has natural talent. He strives to be a leader within our band program. Mark also plays cello in the orchestra as well.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS
Middle School volleyball tryouts will now be held TOMORROW. Seventh grade will be held between noon and 1:00 p.m. Sixth grade will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Members of Mrs. Shannon's Hospitality and Tourism class made Valentine's Day pancakes and helped to spread the love throughout the building!





INDUSTRIAL ARTS
Eighth-grade Industrial Arts students just finished a new table for Ms. Young. She is another happy customer! Thank you for supporting our program, Ms. Young!


INDUSTRIAL ARTS
Yesterday, Industrial Arts students took advantage of the beautiful day to finish sanding our new conference room tables. The next steps are to stain and paint the tables. Stay tuned for the finished products!





COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Yancey shares that, as a first-year teacher, the members of his team have been great resources to share ideas and suggestions. He also notes that they have been there to help him whenever he has had a problem. Collaboration is key!


WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Alexis loves learning and gives 110 percent on every assignment. She has grown by leaps and bounds this year as both a reader and writer. She is kind, encouraging, and helpful to her classmates. Great work, Alexis!


WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Haywood shares that Jaylynn is always willing to help other classmates in both STEM and agriculture class. She steps into leadership roles and always treats others with respect. Thank you for setting an example, Jaylynn!


Valentine's Day surprises were delivered throughout the building yesterday afternoon. Ms. Johnson was excited to receive a sweet treat from one of her students!


WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Runion shares that Eli is such a kind and helpful kid! He adds that Eli is, perhaps, the best-mannered student he's ever had and is always helping his teachers or fellow students. He brings this positivity EVERY day.


COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Ms. Katie Williams shares that we have the greatest food service crew on the planet. They provide delicious meals for our students and staff and are such a kind and pleasant group of ladies. They keep the lunch line festive and decorated throughout the year!




HOSPITALITY and TOURISM CLASS
Yesterday, students in Mrs. Shannon's hospitality and tourism class ventured into the kitchen for the first time this semester. Needless to say, our chefs had a great experience!





MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS (GRADES 6 and 7)
Middle school volleyball tryouts will be held on Thursday (2.16.23). Seventh-grade tryouts will be held at 5:00 p.m., and sixth-grade tryouts will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Today, students in the classes of Ms. Katie Williams have been working through stations to review story elements.





ACADEMIC TEAM
On Saturday, our academic team had another great day!
Students worked hard last week on FPS and composition. On Saturday, students participated in subject area testing.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS is owed Lexi Bowling and Owen Nickel for their sixth-place finishes in composition and social studies. They will continue on to compete in the STATE TOURNAMENT!
Our FPS team narrowly missed qualifying for state but scored an amazing fourth place.
We are so proud of our team this year! They have worked so hard, and we are thrilled to see their growth and success!
Way to go, Wildcats!

It's FRYSC week in Kentucky! This week, we want to give special recognition to our FRYSC coordinator, Mrs. Amy Shaffer! Each day, Mrs. Amy goes above and beyond to meet the diversified needs of our students. Thank you for all you do to make our school better!

Today, Mrs. Daniels would like to share a shout-out for Kennedy Melvin. She notes, “She is very self-motivated and wants to be a great player. No one has to ask her to put in the work.” Way to go, Kennedy!
